Interdisciplinary Artist & Educator ~

Freecheh

My artist name Freecheh
is the first glimpse of culture one can get
from hearing or seeing
the name
It resembles harmonious unity, and the beauty
of authenticity within
the vast community

Community is
essential
to my creativity.
I enjoy & highly
value music,
art, education,
culture & traditions,
& most importantly,
nature.

My goal is to enjoy
the beauty of
creativity
as well as the
process of creating,
be a voice for our
silent struggle, and
share what needs
to be acknowledged.

My Story

I was born in Jerusalem at
4 AM, during a beautiful fall of snow in the Holy Land of Jerusalem, my parents decided to name me Yasmin, signifying the delicate and fragrant jasmine flower that blooms in the area, representing purity and love.

I’ve attempted to live in multiple countries up until now, each experience led me closer to my home & its’ very distinct culture, no one could understand us except our own.

I’ve chosen the name “Freecheh” as my artist's name when I first started DJing in 2021. Being known as Freecheh is a subliminal way to share and preserve my heritage, as well as my love for Freekeh grain ofc :D I’ve chosen to use (ch) instead of (k) to reflect my native Fallahi tongue, transforming (k) to (ch), just through saying this name, you are exposed to the lexical diversity of Filastin.

Struggling to choose a single specialization to work in after my BA in Psychology in the Netherlands, I experimented with various areas of work, which I enjoyed immensely. I then dipped my toe in the corporate world as a manager of 25 counsellors at the young age of 21, and decided to focus on my numerous hobbies instead, which included Art, Food, Music, Dance, and Fashion. I recall having a brief dream of turning my hobbies into my actual field of work, I could say that I am currently living this dream through the magic of interdisciplinary work.

Mission & Vision

The vision is to make effective use of my unique and personal subjective experience, which shapes my perspectives and insights in various situations.

The mission is to share my culture widely to help preserve it. Currently succeeding to do so through teaching Arabic, Dabkeh, sharing inherited songs through singing & DJing, sharing my beliefs & values to my students within the scope of a community, & hopefully much more in the near future.

My personal growth supports both my mission and vision. The more effort I invest in myself, the more I can help others in need, & the more people
we can reach. Allowing
culture to thrive at
its’ fullest.
